Columbus Mixter (1880 U.S. Census)
The family at this time included Columbus and Harriet, William Henry, Mary Catherine, John Robert, Joseph Slicer and Charles Edward.
Eliza Ann Mixter was the first of Columbus' children to get married.
She married Joseph Glover in 1873 and set up house in Hampden, the exact location I do not know.
In 1874 her first daughter, May Lizzie was born. In 1879 her second daughter, Grace (?) was born.
In 1876, Martha Jane Mixter married William McCauley.
They set up house on what is now 40th St, across from St Mary's Cemetery.
In 1878 their first daughter Annie E. was born.
In November 1879 their second daughter, Amanda was born.
George Thomas married Mary Hook on April 30, 1877.
They set up house next door to the family of Columbus and Harriet.
Their first daughter Harriet E. was born in 1878.
Their second daughter Laura May was born in 1879.
Amanda Ellen Mixter married Joseph Burger in 1878.
Where they lived after the marriage, is yet to be found.
Their first daughter, Emma, was born in 1879.
He was buried in St Mary's Cemetery, Lot 3G.
His oldest son William Henry, who had remained home with his mother and dad, married Mary Wise, daughter of a German immigrant, Andrew Wise, on October 18th,1880.
He and Mary stayed at the home of Columbus to take care of his mother and to provide a home for his three younger brothers.
George Thomas Mixter and his wife Mary (Hook) Mixter had their third child and their first son George Thomas Mixter on the 18th of December,1880.
Mary Catherine Mixter married Edmond A. Colburn, February 1881.
Harriet, the wife of Columbus, only lived seven months after her husband died.
She was buried next to her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Mixter family, as with all families, had a time for deaths and a time for births.
All of Columbus' children were now married, except for the three younger boys, and births were on the rise.

Harriet Anne Colburn, daughter of Mary Catherine (Mixter) / Edmond A. Colburn.
Amanda Ellen (Mixter) Burger and Joseph Burger had their second daughter, Mandie.
And John Robert Mixter married Jennie Caldwell on August 26, 1883.
Two more babies were born into the extended Mixter family.
William Henry Mixter and Mary (Wise) Mixter had their second child and first daughter Katie E. Mixter.
Edmond A. Colburn and Mary Catherine (Mixter) Colburn had their second daughter, Florence M. Colburn.
Another three babies were born into the extended Mixter family.
John Robert Mixter and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their first son, Laurence E. Mixter.
Joseph Burger and Amanda Ellen (Mixter) Burger had third daughter, Lora Burger.
Edmond A. Colburn and Mary Catherine(Mixter) Colburn had their first son, and third child, Herbert Colburn.
The only child born was William Columbus Mixter, the son of William Henry Mixter and Mary (Wise) Mixter.
John Robert Mixter and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their second son, William Henry Mixter, named after John Robert's brother William Henry Mixter.
The wife of George Thomas Mixter, Mary (Hook) Mixter died,
leaving George Thomas with three children, Harriet, Laura May and George Thomas.
William Henry Mixter and Mary (Wise) Mixter had their third son, Harry Ellsworth Mixter.
Edmond A. Colburn and Mary Catherine (Mixter) Colburn had their fourth child and third daughter, Isabel Colburn.
Two more children were born into the extended Mixter family.
Joseph Burger and Amanda Ellen (Mixter) Burger had their fourth child and first son Albert Burger.
William McCauley and Martha Jane (Mixter) McCauley had their third child and first son, Harry R. McCauley.
John Robert and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their first daughter, Clara M. Mixter.
William Henry Mixter and Mary Wise had their fifth child and second daughter, Lilly Mixter.
Joseph and Amanda Ellen (Mixter) Burger had their fifth child and fourth daughter, Eva Burger.
Joseph Slicer Mixter married Louisa Bridget Quinn on April 30th, 1892.
Joseph Slicer and Louisa Quinn had their first daughter, Florence Mixter.
William Henry Mixter and Mary Wise had their sixth child and third daughter, Elizabeth (Bessie) Mixter.
John Robert Mixter and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their fourth child and third son, Harry Gordon Mixter.
Joseph and Mary Catherine(Mixter) Colburn had their fifth child and fourth daughter, Mary A. Colburn.
Joseph Slicer Mixter and Louisa Quinn had their 2nd daughter, Myrtle M. Mixter.
Joseph Burger and Amanda Ellen Burger had their sixth child and fifth daughter, Helen Burger.
John Robert Mixter and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their fifth child and their second daughter, Bessie Myrtle.
Edmond A. Colburn and Mary Catherine (Mixter) Colburn had their seventh child and second son, Charles Edward Colburn.
William Henry and Mary (Wise) Mixter had their seventh child and their fourth daughter, Nellie Mixter.
Edmond A. and Mary Catherine (Mixter) Colburn had their seventh child and third son, William B. Colburn.
Joseph Glover died (Feb.7th) and left Eliza (Mixter) Glover with two daughters.
He was buried in lot 3 section L in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Joseph Slicer and Louisa Mixter had their third child and first son, Joseph Cairns Mixter.
Joseph and Amanda Ellen (Mixter) Burger had their seventh child and second son, Joseph H. Burger.
John Robert and Jennie (Caldwell) Mixter had their sixth child and third daughter, Kate E. Mixter.
Edmond A. and Mary Catherine (Mixter) Colburn had their eight child and fourth son, George J. Colburn.
William Henry and Mary (Wise) Mixter had their eight child and fifth daughter, Pearl E. Mixter.
